Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
