'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane reduces on Premier League homecoming

Kane celebrates his 100th goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has diminished and he is open to explore a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The prolific striker is presently halfway through the four-year agreement he signed when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the summer of 2023.

The experienced forward has accumulated an outstanding 103 goals in 106 games for the German side, helping them claim the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which was the initial major trophy of his illustrious career.

Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has previously stated that he would be pleased to see Kane come back to England, where he requires 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England skipper has now clarified that he is no longer as eager about coming back home as he earlier was, and would certainly contemplate prolonging his time in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those discussions with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be willing to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so unfolds and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not considering about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have learned in my career is that different chances and different moments happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Record-breaking Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top scorer for both Tottenham and England and recently became the speediest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five competitions, securing the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had eluded him until he won the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would feel after ending his trophy barren spell, but now feels it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more drive to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Continued success with Bayern Munich is Kane's main focus
