I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
