Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations show the substance was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for details.
An important political figure said the incident left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
